FOOD INTOLERANCE
How do you know if you have an intolerance to food? Recognizing a food intolerance involves paying close attention to how your body responds to certain foods. Common signs of food intolerance include gastrointestinal issues such as bloating, gas, diarrhea, or constipation. You might also experience headaches, fatigue, or skin problems like rashes. Keeping a food diary can be helpful in identifying and pinpointing specific foods that may be causing the symptoms.
An intolerance to foods that contain diary, known as lactose intolerance, is a common condition that occurs when the body lacks sufficient levels of lactase, and enzyme responsible for breaking down lactose, the sugar found in milk and dairy products. These symptoms may include, bloating, abdominal pain, gas, diarrhea, and nausea. Diagnosing lactose intolerance may involve clinical test, such as a lactose tolerance test.
Once you’ve identified that you may have an intolerance to certain foods, diet modification is the main treatment.
